her response back to you. Since her response is not a prerecorded audio file it
does require you to have SAPI speech software.
It is free from

You can still use the
chat and the movements
without SAPI You just will not hear the responses.

instructions below.
Then click on the
Start Menu then Programs then Haptek Player folder then SAPI Config
And choose Female voice
Microsoft Mary.
This page contains FREE
downloads to manually install the required Microsoft Agent components needed to
operate this technology.
NOTE:
The Microsoft Agent core components cannot be
uninstalled and are an Active X extension of the Windows Operating System
and are already included as part of Windows 2000, Me, XP and Vista operating
systems.
If your already using windows
2000, ME, XP or Vista , you can skip Step 1.
If you are running Vista and are
wanting to use SAPI 4.0 voices you need to download and install the L&H Text to
Speech Engine (tv_enua.exe) from Step 2. It's also recommended to install the
British Voices (lhttseng.exe) as these are the default voices for the
characters, although you can use any voices you have installed.
Step 1
Install Microsoft
Agent Core Components Version 2.0 (395K)
Download
the above MSAgent.exe setup program and run it to install the core components.
(You may delete the setup program after the install complete or save it for
future use)
Step 2
Install the
Lernout & Hauspie TruVoice, Text-to-Speech Engine (English version) (1MB).
The
Lernout & Hauspie TruVoice Text-to-Speech (TTS) Engine provides speech output
capabilities for Microsoft Agent so you can hear what the characters are saying
through your sound speakers. Download the above tv_enua.exe setup program and
run it to install the TTS Engine. You may then delete the setup program.once you
have this installed
or save it for future use.
You should see Lernout & Hauspie TruVoice American English TTS Engine in the
Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs list.
Additional Lernout & Hauspie TTS3000 Engines are available from the table below.
You need to download and install both the TTS Engine and the Language Add-On for
the desired Language. For example, to install French Text-to-Speech, download
and install both lhttsfrf.exe and agtx040C.exe from the table.
Step 3
Install the
Microsoft Speech Control Panel (840K)
The Speech Control Panel will add an icon to
your Control Panel to enable you to list the compatible speech recognition and
text-to-speech engines installed on your system and customize their settings for
your use.

Install Microsoft Speech Recognition (6mb)
